Taisei in September
Tricks:
- Scared face: This one's super cute. He does this every time he sees a bug. He also did it once when we let him suck on a lemon slice. He made a very sour face, followed immediately by the scared face.
- Climbing: Couches and stairs. Changing table. High stools and onto our bar table. Piano. Today he climbed on top of the toilet so he could reach the light switch. The thing we're most afraid of him successfully climbing - the crib.
- Jumping: He loves trying to get off the ground. Unfortunately, this one combined with the climbing thing is not so great. He likes to climb to the top of couches and jump onto the seat. We went from climbing to jumping off couches in about 10 days time.
- Naps & bedtime: Indicates when he's ready for a nap by taking Mama's hand and pointing upstairs. Unfortunately he never does this when Baba's home to play with him. When he's ready for bedtime, he says bye-bye to Baba and eventually covers Mama with her own shirt.
- Laundry: He doesn't do it by himself yet, but he loves watching the clothes tumble. Then, when it's done, he helps Mama take it out to load in the dryer.
Words:
- "an-man" = Anpan-man, a popular Japanese children's cartoon character. We never taught him this. In fact, the only anpan-man we have in our house is on a kid's plate that he eats off of. How does toddler osmosis work!?
- "mao" = cat in Chinese. Apparently, he is listening when I repeatedly speak Chinese at him.
- "ai-ai" = monkey in Japanese play-talk. It's from a Japanese children's song.
- "ka" = car. Don't know if that's a Japanese accent or just an American baby who can't pronounce R's yet.
Hm. I can't think of much more to put. He's really changed and grown so much already since the last time we posted. Really, he's just older and wiser now. Although he's still our little baby, nobody would consider him a baby anymore. We're forced to acknowledge that he's a full-blown toddler now.
