Breakthrough Number Three!
The first two broke through the bottom gums and the latest is breaking through the top gums. We saw it on his eleven month birthday. Yes, a new tooth. We're excited because he might be able to chew things soon. He's tired of his baby food, rejecting most of the stuff we make for him and consequently not gaining any weight at all. In fact, he's so skinny, he looks like he has muscles. Babies are not supposed to look muscle-ey.At least we don't have to worry about his development. His development is clearly taking place, although it's not always in the form of a new trick. When my parents came for a visit, we all watched him crawl backwards down the steps. When he made it all the way from the upstairs to the downstairs, we all clapped and cheered. He was so happy and started to clap himself. By the next day, Wami and I had forgotten about that and let him climb down the stairs by himself again. When he got to the bottom, he got really excited and started clapping again. We didn't ever realize what was going on at first. He was re-celebrating the moment and we quickly joined in. Taisei has a better memory than I do already! Oh no!
He's cautious about taking steps (not yet walking - he's taken about 4 accidental ones) but he's not cautious about standing. He refuses to sit in his high chair and stands up instead. He also stands in many other dangerous places, such as in the bathtub, on tables, on airplanes when they're taking off and banking, or on uneven surfaces. One day you're going to fall down, baby!

Adele keeps standing up on chairs and the kitchen table's bench. She has fallen off of something 3 times in the last 2 days. She constantly falls on her head. Cries for about 5 or 10 seconds. Then gets up and gets back on whatever she fell off. People say they learn when they fall. This child hasn't learned yet! Beware of many falls.

Wish I saw that. Am sends me vids. You should too. He is so cute. I love that he remembered to celebrate.

That's so cute! He's grown into a little man!
I've come to learn that toddlers are really creatures of habit. Taisei will probably continue to celebrate after descending the stairs, because that's what you do when you go down the stairs.
hahaha I wouldn't be surprised if he points to you expecting you to clap when you go down the stairs!
Evan used to make sure everyone in the room had their arms folded for prayer when we asked him to pray.
I can't wait to see Evan and Taisei together!
